The identity for DISTRICT, a luxury residence located in Downtown NY, needed to evoke a sense of sex appeal. The mark borrows inspiration from the New York Noir films of the 1950s, mimicking the long, perspective shadows in the shape formed by the type. Signage and displays for the exterior and interior of the sales office extend this theme.

ROLE
Persona + Scenario Development | Branding | Navigational Flow | Visual Design

This project began with a prompt to create a mobile information system that supports urban elders looking for opportunistic rendez-vouses. Developed a prototype of an iPhone app that is designed to allow users to "pin" their location at various places around their city. Created a persona to finalize design goals, which included clarity, showing empathy towards elders' social norms, utilizing elders' existing knowledge of the urban environment, and eliminating feelings of desperation. The process also included several rounds of wireframe sketches, a navigational flow map, and scenarios to walk through the final prototype.

METHODS
Competitive Analysis | Directed Storytelling | Bodystorming | Personas | Scenarios

ROLE
Interface Design | Branding | User Research | Persona + Scenario Development | Navigational Flow

Worked on a team of 3 students to develop protoype of a bill-paying website for roommates sharing bills. Gained an understanding of users’ needs through short interviews and directed storytelling. Insights included an opportunity to remove the role of primary billpayer, and to allow roommates to show empathy towards each other. Developed concepts around an ideal rommate living situation, and created personas and scenarios to finalize the direction. The final design allows roommates to be empathetic through billsplitting features, minimizes awkward financial communications by handling logistics, and makes it easy to pay bills on time.

Worked on a team of 3 students to develop a “smart closet for teen girls.” Conducted short interviews and contextual inquiries to gain insights about shopping habits, style, and routines surrounding clothing. Generated 50+ concepts, and conducted needs validation with a focus group of tween girls. Insights included a need for help when dressing for new situations, and confirmation about new outfits. StylePost reduces ambiguities surrounding how to dress for events, emphasizes fun aspects of getting ready, and allows for co-creation of dress codes for events.
